    • Level 1 King County Green School
      St. Bernadette School was awarded Level 1 Green School status through the King County Green Schools Program for our recycling and waste reduction efforts.  Thank you to our student green team, Mr. Jensen, Jenna Smith and Kelsi Franzen for helping us achieve this status!  Our school was presented with a certificate of achievement, a school banner and a new web icon shown on the right hand side of this page.     • From Strength to Strength: A Strategic Plan for 21st Century Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle
      On February 11th, Archbishop Sartain approved the strategic plan for strengthening the mission of Catholic schools, which was developed through a year-long process in 2013, with the assistance of ACE Consulting of Notre Dame. The plan, keyed to the four themes of our mission, contains 33 actions and 124 tasks. The plan is inspired by the importance and the great gift of our 74 Catholic schools!  Click here to view the document.

      • Sep 9-17, 2014
        Hearing tests will be administered to every child at our school on September 9th and 10th. Vision testing will occur the following week on September 16 &17. Parent Volunteers are needed to complete these screenings. Please remember to fill out a volunteer background check form found in the office prior to volunteering at our school. Thank you!

        We will be kicking off our first school fundraiser of the year! Please support St. Bernadette School by purchasing the acclaimed World's Finest Chocolate bars! All candy bars cost $1.00 and the school earns 50% profit on each box sold. Each family will receive two boxes of chocolate on September 17th. More information will be included in this month's Parents' Club Newsletter edition.

        The locally renowned Taproot Theater will be on campus performing an anti-bullying play called "Trouble in Fairytalezania." Students will learn how to Recognize, Report and Refuse bullying behaviors. This quality performance is sponsored by the St. Bernadette Parents' Club. Thank you parents!

        Bring a bottle of wine to Parent's night to add to the wine cellar for this year's auction - Up, Up & Away!. Last year the wine cellar sold for more than $450.00 thanks to everyone's wine donations and support! A Collection box will be placed in each classroom. Tags will be provided if you would like to add your family name to the bottle. Thank you for your support of this year's auction.

        Mark your calendars for Thursday, Oct. 2nd! The Vietnamese families of St. Bernadette School are hosting a Pho fundraising event to support our school. Tickets will be sold on a pre-sale basis available after all masses, at Scrip sale: Wed & Fri – 8:00 – 8:30am and in the school office during regular school hours. Or, you may simply show up at the door anytime between 4:00 to 6:30pm. Our goal is to provide 100% profit to the school. We hope to see you there!

        PK-8th grade parents are invited to join us at this very important evening event. The evening will begin in Church at 6:30 PM. After our welcome and introductions, we will explain the evening procedures and families will be dismissed to their designated classrooms. Kennedy Catholic High School Admissions staff will be providing application and financial aid information in the hallway.

        Lifetouch Photography will be in the building to take individual student pictures. Students must come to school in full uniform on this day. Picture order forms will be distributed prior to this date.

        Welcome Burien Fire Department! Our Kindergarten-2nd grade students will meet our local firefighters while learning about fire safety. They will experience a mock smokehouse and learn about the different parts of a real fire engine.
